If we know where we came from, we may better know where to go

Worlds heritage, what does that mean to us? -To us it´s important source of knowledge of our and other cultures history. When nations protect targets of heritage we can learn more about our selves and pass on the knowledge to the next generations.

Worlds heritage, what does that mean? Worlds heritage tells us something remarkable about our history and culture. It can be a place or a building that is historically, naturally, scientifically or some other way important that is protected nationally.

In 1972, UNESCO approved a contract about worlds heritage. By this contract the worlds cultural and natural heritage is protected. Why was this contract made? The main thing is to care about worlds threatened cultural- and natural heritages, and preserve them to the next generation to see. The goal of the contract is to gain valuation to the unique cultures of different nations and spread the information. Every country that is involved with the UNESCO, is responsible to help other countries to protect and repair their targets of heritage.

Tourism at the heritage targets, what are the pros and cons?

When tourists visit the heritage places the knowledge about history and culture spread around the nations. It’s the fun way to get to know different cultures around the world, and it keeps the interest in the worlds history alive. Heritage places brings the people to visit a certain areas and countries. Tourists spend money, by that heritage places can be taken care of.

Heritage places suffers from the huge crowd of people. Tourism causes damage to buildings and nature. Tourists may damage buildings and litter the nature. Some even vandalize the targets. Because of the tourism, companies build hotels and restaurants ect. and for that the other areas and its nature will be destroyed.
